Practicum is an essential and integral part of the overall training and education of EACS students. Our Program provides an opportunity for students to develop the knowledge, awareness, values and interpersonal skills required to work with individuals who have disabilities within community and school settings. Students learn to apply and integrate theoretical knowledge to concrete situations. Students are encouraged to reflect on values and attitudes in relation to school and community support work. As well, students are expected to learn to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the field of community support.
The success of the field practicum is dependent upon the cooperation and investment of the students, the community agencies, schools and the University Practicum Instructors.
